Bangalore known as the heart of the Indian IT industry or the pool of human resource , is famous for its lavish bungalows ,expensive lifestyle ,the heavy traffic and the trendy fashion savvy destination of the corporate India.I paid a short visit to this buzzing busy city on my college tour.We reached Bangalore station early in the morning when the roads were still empty, dimly lit by the streetlights. On the way to our motel there were several buses with name of MNC's written on it (the known ones being WIPRO,TCS etc) and i guessed their utility, the obvious one.
My trip through the city by remembering god ,visiting the Makhan Chor at the ISKCON.The krishna temple is situated in the city heart ,with sky touching buildings towering in its background. The temple had three idols of Lord Krishna so beautifully decorated that you don't want to take your eyes off them.i was astonished to see small shops selling krishna artifacts in the central hall of the temple. The temple has just 3 idols of Krishna but 300 or more of Shops selling Various items in his name .I guess there will be MBA graduates in the board.
My next stop was the Cubban Park .A small park with lots of beautiful flowers situsted near the Karnataka high court .You could see the lawyers debating or maybe discussing about some case(i guess) in the balcony of the court from the Cubban park fence. The court is a large red building with some fine architecture.
Lal bagh reminds me of Lodhi garden of New Delhi, and i was not surprised to find it as a twin version of the latter one. The only difference was that Lodhi Gardens are much greener and studded with ruins .But both of them share a lot in common, lush green grass, garden full of flowers ,green benches and the lovers who are looking for the most remote places in the garden to spent some time together. They are in the gardens to enjoy the flowers ,the greenery, the privacy, the cornetto and of course each other. Our class enjoyed taking photographs with the red, pink and the yellow flowers blooming in the background.Well the local vendors ,juicewalla were happy to a bunch young thirsty lads coming their way.
The Forum ,was very different from the malls i have seen till now. It is more extravagant i every way.It is MAX.The mall was really big ,with bigger brands with the likes of Nike,Fila,Apple,Dolce &GABBANA,Westside ,McDONALDS etc.the one brand which really caught my eye was that of the diamond king ,SWAROVSKI.I guess the shop was "self lit" with the diamonds.I just stood gasping at the front door with my mouth wide open.Another attraction at the forum were the girls .Not that i haven't seen girls, pretty ones,in trendy dresses but there was something different here. The way Bangalore girls coming to The Forum carried themselves was quite unique ,it said everything about their lifestyle and their frame of mind. These young corporate girls meant business, they had money ready to spend and they were really really busy. There is so much hype about the recession around the world but at Forum i don't think anybody knows what it is.Everybody is so busy emptying their pockets that i rushed out of it fearing i might not be tempted to do so.
Once outside the luxury VOLVO buses with the stepped platforms caught my eye.The difference between rhe BMTC ordinary buses and these luxury buses was so stark.
The one unique fashion signature of Bangalore are the backpacks.Almost 80% of the people traveling in Bangalore must be having a backpack(sometimes that of an mnc).Hoping that someday i will join them to ......this is PRD signing off.
